Academy Award-nominated Sam Green to lead fourth installment of the Christie Entertainment Series
Immersive Film Experience “The Measure of All Things” to be performed live at the Apollo Cinema June 12
Kitchener, ON – Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Sam Green will lead the fourth installment of the Museum After Dark’s fourth and final installment of the Christie Entertainment Series. The event, which will be held on June 12, 2015, will be a screening of Green’s live-documentary The Measure of All Things. There will be two show-times: 6:00pm and 8:00pm, with a meet and greet reception following the second 90 minute experience.
The Measure of All Things first premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2014. The on-screen portion of the documentary loosely draws inspiration from the Guinness Book of World Records and tells stories about individuals who hold records. While guests are watching the on-screen portion, Green himself provides in-person narrative supported by a three piece New York City band doing the live score. The entire performance blends both theatre and film to create an experience unlike any other. Please see short promotion video.
“We are very excited to have Sam Green participate in the Christie Entertainment Series and bring his extremely unique, immersive experience to Downtown Kitchener,” said David Marskell, CEO of THEMUSEUM. “It showcases two of our values – unexpected intersections and diverse voices – while also entertaining people.”
“It is also great to host this event at the Apollo Cinema which represents the first of many collaborations, along with long-time partner Grand River Film Festival (GRFF),” Marskell continued.
The Apollo Cinema is located on Ontario Street, between Duke Street and Weber Street. There is ample parking at the Duke Street parking arcade just behind THEMUSEUM.
Previous events in the Christie Entertainment Series include the 2001: A Space Odyssey Art & Music Experience, Tight & Bright 80s Retro Laser Dance Party, and Headphone Disco.
