Anime, Comics and Gaming take center stage at THEMUSEUM's second annual KW Tri-Con

Convention set for weekend of January 17th and 18th, 2015

Kitchener, ON – On January 17 and 18, THEMUSEUM will be taken over by Kitchener-Waterloo's premiere anime, comics and gaming convention: KW Tri-Con. While the regular exhibitions and programs will not be available, the space will be transformed to host a superhero cafe, informative and entertaining panels, a masquerade, and vendors selling unique merchandise for fans of all kinds. 

Prominent cosplayers from across Southwestern Ontario will be attending. Members of the Geekettes group, including founders Ashe Rogue and Manda Cowled Cosplay, will be showing off their costumes and meeting with fans. Popular YouTuber, Sean Ward, will also be participating. His YouTube channel, "The Sean Ward Show," is well-known for videos of Toronto Batman and Superhero Hockey. 

During the evening of January 17, from 8:00pm to 10:00pm, The Cybertronic Spree will perform. Hot Rod, Arcee, Rumble, Unicron, Spike, and A Quintesson will be performing their own rock versions of the music from Transformers: The Movie.

 "We are very excited to host KW Tri-Con again this year as we work to be relevant to everyone in the community," said David Marskell, CEO of THEMUSEUM. "We look forward to celebrating the anime, comic and gaming community that is present throughout the Waterloo Region."

KW Tri-Con will take place on both January 17 and 18 and is suitable for all ages. THEMUSEUM will be open for KW Tri-Con from 10:00am to 8:00pm on the Saturday, and 10:00am to 5:00pm on the Sunday. Tickets are available online at with weekend passes costing $30 including taxes, and tickets for The Cybertronic Spree Performance are also available for $10 each including taxes. Members of THEMUSEUM receive free admission.
