Area High Schools Merge at THEMUSEUM

Musicians play for the top spot at THEMUSEUM’s music event

Kitchener, ON – THEMUSEUM is proud to host MERGE | A Music Competition. This event is a classic battle of the bands and is set to take place on April 11th at 7:30pm.

MERGE is a music competition between the students at participating schools in Waterloo Region. The participants are able to perform as a band or sing accompanied by an instrument.

Each participating school has hosted their own competition in which artists performed for an audience. The school then choose which act will be their best representation for the event at THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener. The finalists from each school will perform at THEMUSEUM on April 11th for the panel of judges including Bob Egan - member of Blue Rodeo, AJ Bridel – finalist in CBC’s Over the Rainbow & former student at Eastwood Collegiate Institute, Chase Robbs – Technical Director of Hillside Music Festival and Josh Koehler – from Starlight Social Club to win a prize and all the glory!

This year’s participating schools are Bluevale Collegiate Institute, Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute, Eastwood Collegiate Institute, Forest Heights Collegiate Institute, Huron Heights Secondary School, Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate and Vocational School. Tickets for the April 11th portion of MERGE: A Music Competition are $10 and are only available to students of participating schools through a school representative.

On Saturday, April 12th, the finalists will perform on stage at THEMUSEUM for the general public. Tickets are $10 and are available at
