Next on our series of Staff Profiles we have Interpreter, Summer Camp Coordinator, Interpret This Founding Member - Mark Maestrandrea. Take it away Mark!
Q. What do you do at THEMUSEUM?
A. What don’t I do at THEMUSEUM! Unofficially I am at THEMUSEUM to keep staff Morale high and ensure people are smiling. But officially I make guest appearances in the café from time to time, work as an Interpreter and most recently took on the role of Summer Camp Coordinator.
Q. Give us the elevator pitch on you.
A. I’m loud, enthusiastic and love to laugh (you can generally hear my laughter throughout THEMUSEUM). I recently finished my studies at Wilfrid Laurier with hopes to explore Europe in the fall!
Q. If you were so inclined, how would you attempt to take over the world?
A. TWO words….JUSTIN BIEBER…..Most people love him, those that don’t, just love to hate him.
Q. Team Edward or Team Jacob? (if you’re younger than 25) Sonny or Cher? (if you’re older than 25)
A. Team Angel….I never really could get into the whole Twilight Series….but let’s be honest Buffy was totally the original Vampire Love story.
Q. Do you prefer long walks on the beach? Or long walks in the streets? And why?
A. I prefer long walks on the streets, the beach is soo overrated and honestly Kitchener-Waterloo although not perfect has so much to offer! Whether I’m people watching at uptown waterloo or drinking a coffee on a patio in Kitchener I always feel right at home. Also as someone who is auto-motively impaired I tend to walk or bus everywhere anyways.
Q. If you were a webpage, what would you be about?
A. Onesies- or as plain english adult footed pajamas
Q. If you were stuck in THEMUSEUM overnight, what exhibit would you play with the most?
A. In the Past would’ve said the tot spot….the bubbles and lights just look relaxing….then I realized I wouldn’t wanna sleep if I was in THEMUSEUM over night so instead I would play in Animal Grossology….more specifically the submarine slide
