We’re chasing $10,000 from WIND Mobile to better serve the community and we need your help!
As you may know, WIND Mobile is bringing their brand of cell phone service to Waterloo Region this summer. They are also looking to give away $10,000 to support a new or existing project that makes a positive change around these parts.
THEMUSEUM’s promise to the community is to scan the globe for fresh cultural content and use it to stage experiences that stimulate transformative connections for our audiences. We try to live that promise every day. One of the ways we are doing that is providing our Virtual Field Trip Program that allows Kitchener/Waterloo students go on a dino dig with the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Alberta, watch a King Cobra chow down at the Bronx Zoo, view the Smithsonian’s greatest treasures, or visit over 200 cultural institutions across North America alone – all without ever leaving one of our classrooms at THEMUSEUM.
A $10,000 grant means that over 500 students in Waterloo Region can experience this portal to the world, closing the gap of financial disparity that exists within the community and giving equal access for all children to experience what they might not have been able to without the Virtual Field Trip Program.
But this is where you come in. Through a bit of detective work (i.e. I perused their blog), we’ve discovered that our proposal will have much better chance of being successful if we get people to show their support. That mostly means posting on WIND Mobile’s Facebook Wall and tweeting at @WINDMobile - tell them about your support for our amazing idea! You have your marching orders.
If you think this is a worthwhile effort in this community, please support us so we can continue to awe, inspire, and enlighten the children of Waterloo Region not only with our exhibits and educational programs, but with the vast collection of culture around the world.
