Blue Jay and Maple Leaf Greats Headline “An Evening With” Spring Sports Series at THEMUSEUM
Jesse Barfield May 5th and Doug Gilmore May 21st to be interviewed by Dave Bidini
Kitchener, ON – This May THEMUSEUM will be hosting “An Evening With” - its third annual spring sports series. The first, Tuesday May 5, 2015 will feature former Toronto Blue Jay right fielder Jesse Barfield who 30 years ago this year helped take the Blue Jays to their first post season series.
The second evening will be Thursday May 21, 2015 when former Toronto Maple Leafs Captain, Doug Gilmour, who in 1993, led the Leafs to the Campbell Conference Final losing out on their first trip to the Stanley Cup finals since 1967 on a controversial call when Gilmour was cut for eight stitches by Wayne Gretzky.
Past “An Evening With” events have featured baseball greats Fergie Jenkins and Roberto Alomar.
“It is so great to be able to bring these notable athletes to our Community Stage,” said THEMUSEUM’s CEO, David Marskell. “They have both thrilled and inspired us and it will be fun to ask questions and hear some of the on and off the field/ice stories.”
Both Barfield and Gilmour, respectively, will be interviewed by author and musician Dave Bidini then take questions from the audience. Photographs and autographs are only guaranteed for VIP package holders. A limited number of VIP packages are available by contacting Robyn.Cheng@THEMUSEUM.ca.
A single, online live-silent auction will run in conjunction with both events concluding May 21st at the Gilmour event. Doors for both events – Barfield on May 5 and Gilmour on May 21 – open at 7:00pm, with each event beginning at 7:30pm. VIP Package holders will receive details about their start time and Meet & Greet session.
