Camp Volunteer

Position Title: Camp Volunteer

Department: Public Programs
Report to:  Camp Coordinator
 
Description of the Position: Assisting THEMUSEUM camp leaders with materials, cooperative learning experiences, crafts, reading activities, games and field trips with campers.
 
Time Commitment
P.D. Day Camps: November 13, January 29, March 28, April 22, June 3
Winter Camp: December 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30
Hours: 9:30am - 4:30pm (1/2 hour for lunch), or 9:30am - 1:30pm, 12:30pm - 4:30pm
 
Duties/Activities/Responsibilities
  • Assist camp leaders in the preparing camp programs
  • Provide leadership and participate in camp activities
  • Help with lunch supervision
  • Help campers complete activities
  • Develop a positive, fun and safe camp environment for children and youth
  • Other volunteer duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications

  • Energetic, creative and a strong desire to serve THEMUSEUM
  • Desire to work with children and youth
  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Able to take direction and work independently
  • Punctual and dependable
  • A background check will be required for this position

Orientation/Training: Tour and orientation to THEMUSEUM will be provided, as well as camp leader assistant training.
