Heffner Toyota, Region of Waterloo and two individuals step up in support of local art movement
Collective Identity calls on community to help fund Fast Forward Waterloo Region
Kitchener, ON – Collective Identity, a group of local artists is taking over the fourth floor of THEMUSEUM in downtown Kitchener with an exhibition titled Fast Forward Waterloo Region. The exhibition featuring twenty local artists also features various mediums – paintings, sculptures, performances and more – that depict what the culture of Waterloo Region might look like in 2050.
Fast Forward Waterloo Region will be presented by Heffner Toyota who has stepped forward with a generous contribution in support of local artists. In addition, The Region of Waterloo was the founding partner, and David Marskell, CEO of THEMUSEUM and Alan Quarry, CEO of Quarry Integrated Communications have put forward $500 each to be matched by the community.
No matter what you can offer, $500 or $5, every bit helps,” says Marskell. “Fast Forward Waterloo Region is the first of, hopefully, many events that will help revitalize the local art movement within Waterloo Region and I am delighted THEMUSEUM can play a part.”
Terre Chartrand ofCollective Identity is calling on the media, local developers, corporations, start-ups and the community to support this important beginning of a cultural renaissance, the artists and future initiatives.
