1 Night. 20 Artists. 4 Rounds. 35 Original Works.

Call For Artists

Now in its 7th year, THEMUSEUM is proud to host Kitchener-Waterloo’s original live painting competition, The Brush Off! During this fundraising event, artists are invited to participate in a friendly competition, painting and creating art in front of a live audience of 500 people. Artists will expose and be exposed to the wealth of artistic talent that exists in this community and beyond!

Guests will come for the party atmosphere, and witness this fast-paced art making. They will enjoy the intensity of the creative process, as well as a cocktail while they dance to the music! Guests will have an opportunity to mingle with the artists, vote for their favourite works in each round, and bid on the paintings created in the silent auction!

THEMUSEUM is a registered not for profit, charitable organization and hosts events like The Brush Off to fundraise in order to operate and offer the community fresh and relevant exhibitions, programming and events.

Each artist will donate their time to create the art, and THEMUSEUM and artist will share in the silent auction proceeds. Along with the artists, guests support THEMUSEUM at the event through tickets sales, art sales, and drink sales.

Who Should Apply?

THEMUSEUM is seeking artists who thrive in an exciting, dynamic, engaging environment, while creating their work on the spot.

Artists will compete in rounds and winners from each round will be selected by audience votes and advance to the final round!

Each artist will donate their time to create the art, and THEMUSEUM and artist will share in the silent auction proceeds. Along with the artists, guests support THEMUSEUM at the event through tickets sales, art sales, and drink sales. The winning artist and the runner up are guaranteed to receive prizes!

THEMUSEUM will provide all paint, canvas and easels, and artists will provide their own brushes and tools. Artists are encouraged to sell tickets to friends and family to create their very own cheering section!
