THEMUSEUM CEO asked to join National Board

David Marskell to join the Canadian Museums Association Board of Directors

Kitchener, ON – THEMUSEUM is pleased to announce its CEO, David Marskell, has been selected to become part of the Canadian Museums Association’s Board of Directors for a three year term. The Nomination Committee put forward Marskell’s name to the national membership in advance of the Annual General Meeting to be held in Banff, Alberta on Wednesday, April 15, and he was acclaimed.
The Canadian Museums Association (CMA) is the national organization for the development of museums in Canada, and represents Canadian museum professionals on both a national and international level.
Marskell has previously served on CMA committees, and along with colleagues from THEMUSEUM, has presented at several seminars and interactive sessions over the past four years. In his new position Marskell will work alongside some of the brightest museum directors from across Canada at the national level.
“It’s an honour to be a part of such a stellar group and I look forward to assisting in the recognition, growth and stability of the Canadian museum sector, especially as we approach Canada’s sesquicentennial,” said Marskell. “This also allows me to help shine a light on all of the great museums, galleries and other arts and cultural organizations across Waterloo Region.”
This affiliation has allowed THEMUSEUM, a medium sized museum located in downtown Kitchener, to be recognized on a national level.
